Armstrong & Associates
Nikhil has over 30 years of financial stewardship and M&A experience with a primary focus on the third-party logistics market. Before joining Armstrong & Associates as Managing Director – M&A Advisory, Nikhil worked at Rutherford, New Jersey based 3PL provider Genpro, Inc. where he served as CFO since 2013. During his tenure at Genpro, Nikhil partnered with the president to scale the organization via optimizing operations, strong organic growth and strategically targeted acquisitions.
Nikhil has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, turnarounds, and staging of mid-sized organizations. He has helped organizations create optimum Enterprise Value.
Prior to Genpro, Nikhil was CFO of Kelron Logistics (presently XPO Canada) for 11 years. He contributed to the company’s growth in becoming a recognized player in the 3PL non-asset space in North America.
Nikhil has also had a very successful tenure with Fritz/UPS for six years where he was mainly involved with international and North American mergers and acquisitions.
Nikhil brings a wealth of knowledge in finance, management and operations in the 3PL market with extensive international experience. He has been a thought leader and regular speaker at major industry associations and trade shows in the U.S. and Canada for over eight years. He is a member of Finance Executives International, the Council of Supply Chain Management, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada, and the Association of Corporate Growth Toronto Chapter. His education includes a CPA from the U.S., a Chartered Accountant from India, and an Executive MBA from Queens University in Canada.

Eric Johnson is the JOC's Senior Editor, Technology, where he leads coverage and analysis of technology’s impact on global logistics and trade. Johnson regularly reports on how shippers, carriers across all modes, and logistics companies use software, as well as new concepts impacting core freight transportation processes like procurement, execution, visibility, and payment. Johnson is a regular presenter and moderator at industry events and webinars. Prior to joining the JOC in May 2018, Johnson spent 13 years with American Shipper in a variety of roles, most recently covering logistics technology and leading the production of a series of benchmark studies on the logistics industry. Johnson has a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s in international business from the University of Leeds, UK. He has lived and worked in Southern California, the UK, and India, and now resides in the Washington, D.C., area.
Thomas K. Sanderson, Executive Chairman
A 40-year veteran in the logistics technology, third-party logistics (3PL), and transportation industries, Tom Sanderson is Executive Chairman of Transplace, a premier provider of transportation management services, intermodal, truck brokerage, customs brokerage, and SaaS TMS solutions.
Prior to joining Transplace, Sanderson was president and CEO of Clicklogistics, which he sold to BNSF and YRC.
Sanderson was co-owner and president of PTCG, Inc, the company that invented optimization-based transportation procurement with its OptiBid software. He sold PTCG to Sabre, who sold it as Logistics.com, and it is now operated as part of Manhattan Associates.
Sanderson worked 8 years in the trucking industry, serving as president of J.B. Hunt Special Commodities, Inc., Vice President of Marketing for J. B. Hunt Transport, and Vice President of J. B. Hunt Logistics (now Transplace). He held marketing and IT roles at Schneider National. He has 6 years of consulting experience with Mercer Management Consulting and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
He has an MBA from Indiana University, has been married for 38 years and has three children and one grandson.
Edwin Tuyn is Managing Director and Founder of Inspired-Search. Along with Oskar Verkammen, he is the co-Founder of the Inspired-Group. A passionate and driven entrepreneur, Edwin favours candidates that can mirror both their business acumen and in-depth supply chain knowledge.
Besides the further development of the organisation and being responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation, Edwin focuses primarily on senior executive search assignments, for both permanent and interim positions. He specialises in the life science (pharma/MedTech), FMCG/CPG/food, fashion/apparel and logistics service provider industries, but maintains both a solid network within and knowledge of other industries.
Edwin has been prominent in logistics and supply chain management for over 30 years. He has gained more than 25 years of experience in various operational, executive management and board positions, and has been an independent organisational consultant in various business sectors. In the last decade, Edwin has chosen to specialise in professional development for people within supply chain and leadership. In 2004, he developed and published ‘The Ascent to Leadership’: a map based on associative cartography. Over 10 years with Inspired-Search, as both a heart and head hunter, Edwin has created exceptional and creative matches between organisations and candidates.
As well as graduating from the maritime institute, Edwin attained an MBA from Kingston University (London, UK / Haarlem Business School) and gained a CPIM certification from the American Production & Inventory Control Society (APICS). He has also completed various courses on creative thinking, leadership and coaching. Edwin is also a certified Spiral Dynamics consultant.
Activities and other interests
Edwin regularly speaks on the subject of supply chain management and creative & inspiring leadership. He also is often asked to act as a conference chairman or discussion leader and publishes regular thought-leadership pieces on columns and blogs. In his spare time he is a passionate nature and landscape photographer.
Transport and Logistics Advisors LLC
Mr. Clair is the Managing Partner of Transportation and Logistics Advisors, LLC (TandLA). For over two decades, Mr. Clair has participated in hundreds of consulting assignments with dozens of clients. He has deep experience assisting clients in the transportation and logistics industries, and energy/mining sector, across a wide range of projects.
Mr. Clair has significant experience assisting transportation service providers to grow and improve their financial performance, and in assisting shippers and 3PL’s to design and manage their supply chains. He also has considerable experience advising suppliers to the transportation industry, including equipment manufacturers, information service providers, and providers of leasing and other financial services. He has assisted clients with rail, trucking, parcel, ocean, inland barge, airfreight, and 3PL services.
Most recently Mr. Clair has been assisting both 3PLs and buyers of 3PL and Transportation Management services. His work has also been significantly in the areas of LTL and TL brokerage, transportation management systems, eCommerce and eFulfillment, but has also covered intermodal, LTL, OEM auto parts, after market auto parts, chemicals, fertilizers, steel and other metals, and agricultural products.
Prior starting TandLA, he was a partner at Zubrod/Clair, and at Norbridge. Prior to being in boutique consulting companies he held senior positions at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman). Before becoming a consultant, Mr. Clair was Director of Business Development for IU International (now Landstar Systems). He has also held several management positions at Union Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Clair is member of the Business Advisory Council (BAC) at the Northwestern University Transportation Center.
Mr. Clair received a B.S. (Cum Laude) from the University of Maryland with a double major in Finance and Transportation/Logistics; and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business, University of Minnesota. He has completed the Stanford University Law School Directors College program.
